When editing professionally there are a few things you want to keep in mind and not do. But if you are just editing for your own pleasure then you are free to break the rules. :) Editing is tough because it's so subjective but there are some things that you should steer away from.
When using textures you want to keep it off the subject's face. It can make the subject's face appear to be grungy or dirty.
With this picture I erased the texture (just her face) with 65% opacity and 63% flow. That way I kept some of the texture but it's not as heavy.
Here is the photograph with full strength texture. It's just a tad too harsh on her face.
