After little man's birthday hubby and I went on our first getaway without little man. I cried multiple times before ever making it through security! But I did better once we were there. Where were we?
We were at one of my favorite places....New York City! We met some friends there that drove in from Virginia to hang out with us! (At the last minute I decided not to bring my nice camera, I only had a point and shoot)
Hubby and I've been there before but were unable to do many touristy things the last time we were there. So this time we hit the city as a full on tourist!
We went and saw the Statue of Liberty. Which was quite amazing in person!
Hubby insisted we see the David Letterman show. Jessica Biel was a guest along with the American Idol winner. It was fun to see how all the production works. I'm usually asleep by the time the show airs.
We went up the Empire State Building. It always reminds me of Sleepless in Seattle.
And my absolute favorite thing that we did was see WICKED!!!! If you haven't seen this broadway show it's the most amazing thing I have ever seen!! Hubby and his best friend even loved it! This is my friend Heike. (pronounced Hike-ee)
I love New York City!
(Yes we did stop by Carlo's Bake shop from TLC's Cake Boss! )
Beautiful Pictures of your little guy! What a great get-away too!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a blast. Is your friend German? Heike is a traditional German name, my mother in law has the same name, we pronounce it hike-uh.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures!!! Happy Birthday to your little man!!! Looks like a fun get away!
ReplyDeleteI just love smash cakes. Great photos!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you all had a blast! We only live a couple hours from NYC and still have not been to a Broadway show. Matt said we can do it someday, we just haven't.
ReplyDeleteLittle man is super cute with his cake!
She is american but I believe she was named after her grandpa who may have been german.
ReplyDeleteThose b-day pics are too cute. And those getaways are necesary. I recently went to NYC for the first time. Looks like you had better wicked seats than we did. It was my 2nd time seeing it and it was phenomenal!
ReplyDeleteThe Statue of Liberty is about the only thing I want to see in NYC! I guess Im just not too big of a city girl :(
ReplyDeleteI love NYC!! Since it is just a train ride away. We try to go at least once a year.
ReplyDeleteDid you eat any cake? If so, how was it? My sister-in-law is going to drive up to the "Cake Boss" bakery for my niece's birthday cake.
Love the pictures of little man and his cake. One minute, he is all smiles, ready to dive in...next minute, he is like get this stuff off of me!!
Little Man's pictures are so cute! :)
ReplyDeleteNYC is fun! I've visited twice which is weird because I only live a few hours from there.
Love the birthday pix! My little guy didn't like the frosting on his fingers either at his first.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! I have given you an award at

Thanks for sharing little man's birthday photos. So cute!! My granddaughter really got into it this year, she turned 2. Last year she had allergy issues that nearly ruined her birthday party but she was a little trooper. Love the getaway shots as well. Thanks and take good care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a lovely little vaca! :)
