Little man has been on several flights but this was the first time he was remotely interested in seeing the other planes. I love these pictures of him watching the planes take off while waiting for our plane.
We were vacationing with some close friends of ours. Our first stop was in Pennsylvania. It was the first time I had been there. No one told me that my dream of owning an old white farm house with a big red barn on rolling hills was possible in this state!! They are actually everywhere. I was in heaven. It was so peaceful and beautiful.
Pennsylvania is where we celebrated the fourth of July. We shot a few fireworks. Little man saw his first sparkler with hubby. He loved it! We went and watched a firework show at a nearby children's camp. Little man kept his blankie up to his face with his ears covered. You could only see his eyes. I wish I would have gotten a picture of it.
While in Pennsylvania we went down and spent some time at the flight 93 memorial. It was very moving to be at the sight where it happened. So many people had left items, cards, and wrote beautiful words to memorialize the people on the flight.
After Pennsylvania we headed down to Washington D.C. We saw the all the great sights of D.C.
One that was particularly special was seeing the name of a (close) family member (on my dad's side) that lost his life in the Vietnam war on the Vietnam War Memorial.
We had a blast being with our friends! (the same ones we went to NYC with) The one picture I did get with everyone was severely underexposed there was no saving it.
Again sorry if I made your eyes bleed from so many pictures. I wanted to get the vacation pictures done in one post for the family. ;)
Glad to be home and back to blogging! I hope you all had a great holiday weekend!
Happy birthday by the way to the greatest husband ever!! I love you sweetie!!

ReplyDeleteI always love looking at all of your photos so this was great! Looks like a wonderful way to celebrate our country!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! We went to Washington with our son when he was 9 months old and it was a great experience (even tho I'm canadian!). I'm impressed that you got such great shots of the white house. When we went it was crawling with security and they wouldn't let us take pics. (year 2000)
ReplyDeleteI squealed a bit when I saw your baby belly.
Loved the fireworks! But not as much as the pics of little man.
Be blessed today!

ReplyDeleteLoved the photos your shared. I love PA. My hubby is from there and have been there many times. Love the older buildings back there.
ReplyDeleteWe went to the rodeo at St. Paul,OR, which is right behind us. Loved it again and took lots of photos. Will post some soon. This weekend I visited a couple lavender farms, tis the season and learned to make lavender wands, with my daughter at one place. Fun! Love the fragrance! Thanks for sharing and that you had a fun and safe trip!
Love the pictures...don't apologize for all the pictures...I enjoy looking at them. Was so excited to see you were coming to PA, but it looks like you were more western. We live on the eastern side of the state outside of Philly. Anyway, glad your back.
ReplyDeleteWhat lens and settings did you use for the barn picture(inside) and fireworks. They were awesome! I didn't even attempt to take pictures of fireworks.
Thanks for sharing the photos - they're fantastic! I love them all, but the fireworks photos are spectacular!
ReplyDeletegreat pics
ReplyDeletePennsylvania looks incredible!
would love to visit one day;
love the barn,
Carla
Thanks everyone! For the fireworks I used a slower shutter speed, higher aperture (f10), and an ISO of 100.
