Friday night we had our "gender party". We had so much fun! Lord willing if we have anymore children that is definitely the way we will tell people. We ended up not doing the cake idea but instead we put a piece of paper into 12 balloons. Half of the balloons said "It's a boy" and the other half said "It's a girl". Our family chose their balloon based off what they thought the gender would be. On the count of three everyone popped their balloons but only one balloon had the piece of paper with the gender and name on it. (I wish I had more pictures. I've learned that's it's hard to be the hostess and photographer at the same time)
What did the piece of paper say?
It's a boy! Welcome Matthew Cohen!
Yep, it's another boy. God does have a sense of humor! :) I thought I would
only have girls. We are so excited to meet him and excited that little man will be so close in age with his baby brother.
Here is my 20 week self-portrait shot. No one told me it was so difficult getting a self preggo belly shot. I am currently 21 weeks. I am halfway through and have gained only 5 pounds!
Here are a few pictures we took over the weekend when little man seemed to be feeling up to it. I really can't wait to meet Matthew Cohen! Any ideas for a blog name for him??
Last week little man was sick and diagnosed with yet another ear infection. He shared his sore throat and colds with hubby and I. Most of my time last week was spent rocking little man or sleeping. Which is why I was unable to post the tutorial or answer emails. Sorry! He's still under the weather. Once he is back to himself I will tackle my inbox!
YAY! Congratulations! Love his name. The party sounds so fun. Very unique way to tell your family. Love the picture of the three of you on the bed. Great shot!

ReplyDeleteBlog name? How about little brother? since you already have little man...or mighty M.
Hmmmm, I'm really not good a bloggy names- I just use initials. :)
AH! How exciting! The cake picture is so cute, and I love that first one of you and your fam! What a fun way to let people know the gender. And his name is great! There's a little boy in our family (son of my dad's cousin's daughter) named Cohen, so I love that name. Congratulations!!! God Bless you guys! :-) XOXO - Hannah <3

Love the happy news of another adorable baby entering the world soon to wonderful, God fearing people. I love the photos, especially with little man and you and your preggo belly. Too cute an idea! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteSo exciting!!! :-) I love his name. I'm not very good at thinking of creative "blog names" but if I think of a good one I'll let ya know.
ReplyDeleteI love your family pictures- those are great and the black and white is perfect!
Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteYou know how I feel about boys...we have 4! Congrats! You look amazing with being halfway there. Most of us would have loved to have only gained 5 pounds 21 weeks in!!
ReplyDeleteBLUE CONGRATS!! So nice to have a baby brother so close in age. Our first was a girl, then 3 boys to follow (kept trying for that sister)But I honestly think if I had 10 more, they would all be boys! AND I love my BOYS, theyre all so affectionate :)
ReplyDeleteBTW, you LOOK fabulous! You look about 12 in that picture, He-He. Youre adorable, wonderful family photo. (and I have nothing to add about the 5lbs!) HUGS to your littleman-
Heidi & Jack
{Life with Jack}
Heidi I get the age thing all the time! It comes from my dad's side of the family. My dad looks like he's in his 30's! My husband recently got mistaken for my dad....so embarassing! It's not something I currently embrace, maybe when I'm in my 40's and I look like I'm in my 20s I'll appreciate it but not now! ;)
ReplyDeleteCongrats! ...and only 5 pounds?! That's pretty awesome! My husband has the young-looking thing going on, too...he's 4 years older than me and when I brought him home to meet my family for the first time, my sister thought he was 4 years younger than me! So, yeah...I bet you'll love it when you're 40! :)
ReplyDeletesick kiddies is tougher on Mom I think, hope he's over it quick!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on another boy! How exciting that Little Man can have a playmate! Are you lucky enough that you can use the same clothes or are they going to be opposite seasons like my girls are?
