I don't often ask you all for prayers but this has been weighing on my heart.
Towards the end of my pregnancy with little man my blood pressure started rising and my platelet count started dropping. I had no idea what platelets were until then. Platelets are in your blood and their job is help your blood to clot, like when you get a cut. If you have a low platelet count some anesthesiologists will not give you an epidural and if you have to have a c-section they will put you completely under. Which means my husband would not be allowed in the room and I would not get to hear my baby's first cry.
We induced at 39 weeks because of my blood pressure but during delivery my platelet count dropped drastically. The delivery went ok but right after he was born, I hemorrhaged. Which was scary for all of us.
I don't normally have a low platelet count, it's only during pregnancy. My labs from a few weeks ago show my platelet count starting to drop, again. Naturally this has caused my husband and myself to become anxious about delivery. Would you pray specifically that my platelet count will be high and that there would be no need for a c-section?!
Thank you in advance for your prayers!

ReplyDeleteIf you are suffering from thrombocytopenia and want to increase platelet count naturally, here are some suggestions that you should follow to raise platelet count:
■Avoid all refined food stuffs including sugars, saturated fats, processed foods and grains, aerated drinks. These foods are known causes of platelet count fall.
■Consume a lot of healthy food. This includes fresh and organic foods. This will help in stimulating the body’s internal mechanism and increase your platelet count.
■Ensure that you thoroughly wash you wash raw food before consuming them as helminthes, parasites and viruses are known to cause a fall in the platelet count.
■Use cod liver oil or flax seed oils. They strengthen the immune system, reduce inflammation, improve circulation and increase your ratio of HDL (High Density Lipoproteins) to LDL (Low Density Lipoproteins).
■Tomatoes and berries are loaded with vitamins and minerals and have strong anti-oxidant qualities which will help you increase platelet count.
■Consume a lot of green and leafy vegetables.
Thinking of you!
ReplyDeleteMonica,
ReplyDeleteI just found you on blog frog...
I just wanted you to know that I am saying a prayer right now. I also want to share with you this verse....
"Do not be afraid, do not panic before them, For the Lord YOUR God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you." Deuteronomy 31:6-
Arm yourself with the word and take it with you! I've been in your shoes 3 times! God is good and He is faithful...
Blessings,
Kelli
I will certainly keep you in my prayers until new baby boy is safely delivered.

Will be praying! Labor and delivery can be nerve-racking enough when all goes well!
ReplyDeleteI also had some hemorrhaging after my first and the second time around, they were able to give me some kind of drug after delivery to help with clotting so it didn't happen again.
I have been a follower for a couple of months now and I have really enjoyed your blog.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts and prayers are with you. I am in a similar boat with pregnacy ending sooner than planned. Currently I am on bedrest in the hospital for the next couple of days at 33 weeks and will be enduced to deliver soon.
From one mom to another, I am pulling for you!
I will be praying for you as well.
