Thursday morning I had my routine weekly visit with my OB. I was surprised to find out that I was in labor! She sent me over to labor and delivery. After of just an hour in labor and delivery I was dilated to a four. Hubby was at home with little man trying to get everything together and drop little man off at our friend's house.
Soon after my doctor broke my water I was a five. Labor up until this point seemed to be progressing at a fast pace (with my husband about 45 minutes away) but that is where I stalled. Hubby made it, along with some of my family.
I spent a lot of time on the labor ball, walking, and moving around. My five wasn't progressing. That's when we moved on to the pitocin. Up until this point I had been laboring naturally but I decided to get an epideral after an hour or so on the pitocin. A few hours later and only 18 minutes of pushing he was here!!

Look at those chubby cheeks. :)
I am so thankful that the Lord answered our prayers for me to go into labor on my own and for an easy delivery. I did have the same bleeding issues that I did with little man but I didn't know it until a day later. I didn't "feel" the effects of the blood loss (as bad) as I did after little man's delivery. My labs are starting to look better and I am taking it easy. Thank you all for your many prayers!

Cohen on the other hand had to be put into the NICU last night due to jaundice. I was discharged from the hospital this morning so we drove home with an empty car seat. So incredibly heartbreaking. But I know they are taking great care of him and it won't be for long. NICU parents that do this for months at a time, my heart goes out to you. I can't imagine what that is like.
Our little glow worm.
I will keep you updated on how he's doing. We can't wait to have him home!! I have more pictures to share with you and hopefully video. I am blessed to have you all as a blog community and appreciate you all more than you know!
Hey, he is absolutely beautiful!!! I am sorry you didn't get to come home with him; it is one of the hardest things I ever had to do.
ReplyDeleteThe thing that helped me get thrugh Caileigh was trying to make a schedule pumping and I would go to the hospital and pump there or nurse her there. It helped me feel like I was still bonding and caring for her.
Praying he comes home soon!!
