Our rockin' New Year's celebration
My husband was literally counting down the days to our new years eve celebration. We had planned it at the beginning of December with some good friends of ours. New years eve my husband comes home early and his excitement is through the roof.
We finish packing and hit the road. It's only about an hour drive to our friend's ranch. The whole way there he talked about hunting, letting little man play on the land, spending quality time with friends, and playing games with friends.
We pulled up to house and our friends came out to greet us at the truck. When we took little man out of the truck he took off running. He loved the open space! We unloaded everything and settled in. The men talked about hunting and when to get the char-coal going. The women discussed birth experiences and having babies. Two other families showed up with their little ones. We had 5 kiddos total, three who were under six months. Everything seemed to be going great....
It was time to put little man to bed, so hubby grabbed the pack n' play and took it upstairs to set it up. Everyone was downstairs talking, eating, and swapping stories. I realized that it had been a while since hubby went upstairs. Finding that odd, I grabbed little man and headed upstairs. As I was topping the stairs I could see hubby laying down on the bed. I knew this wasn't good. My husband goes 90 to nothing all of the time and hardly ever sits or even naps!
I walked into the room and asked him what was wrong. That's when he shared that he had just started feeling sick. We both knew that we couldn't stay. Shortly after he was full blown sick. The men helped load our truck and I drove us home. For hubby it was the longest. car. ride. ever.
Not long after arriving home I was full blown sick. I called some family to see if they would be able to watch little man but everyone had plans. Hubby was so sick he couldn't get out of bed and I was almost to that point. I had no idea how we were going to take care of two kids. God blessed us by Cohen sleeping the entire night. We were both sick all night long but by morning hubby was feeling better. At least well enough to watch kids while I slept. So thankful for him!
So that's how we rang in the New Year. How about you? Did you do anything fun?
