Since my last post my platelet count had gone up to 115. Which was a huge positive. But my last lab (taken on monday) report was not as encouraging. My platelets dropped to 85. We want them over 100. My doctor has put me on a steroid to hopefully reduce any inflammation that is killing the platelets. I also have a grade 3 placenta but the doctor doesn't seem too worried about that right now. She is going to check it via sono every week until delivery.
What does this mean about location of the delivery? Well, after attending an amazing natural birth class with my sister in law this weekend I would love to deliver naturally. But I would like to do that out of the hospital setting and with my platelets this unstable I don't think I have an option.
Please be praying for high platelets, that I naturally go into labor early (if my platelets keep dropping they're going to induce and the closer I get to my due date the lower they fall), and that we will have a peace about where we will be delivering.
Thank you friends! I am almost 36 weeks...so close to meeting this sweet boy!!

Monica, I am praying for you! For peace for you and your husband and for safety for the little guy inside you. I'll be praying that the platelet counts rise and that you won't need to be induced. God's timing is perfect so I pray that you rest in that knowledge waiting for the baby to arrive.
ReplyDeleteHeather that means so much. Thank you for your prayers and encouragement!
DeletePraying for platelet count to be at appropriate level and all will go well now and birth. God is there in the midst of all this and knows what u need. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteThank you becky for the prayers and hugs. You are right God is in the midst of all of this...I need that reminder!
DeleteI'm praying for peace and strength to get you thru till you can hold your sweet boy in your arms. God's perfect plan is already planned out. He knows you can handle everything he sets before you. I will pray for your platelet count to go up and for an early delivery but most of all I pray for peace for you and your family. Worrying at times like this is so easy to do. Stay strong and rest in the everlasting arms of your Savior.
