Abide

"I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in Me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be My disciples."  John 15:5,8

According to dictionary.com Abide-to have one's abode; dwell; reside, to continue in a particular condition, attitude, relationship

I've read this verse a thousand times but today it stuck out to me. Whoever abides in him. Whoever resides in him. Whoever has a relationship in him. Whoever dwells in him. 

The part that sticks out the most is in blue. "apart from me you can do nothing." NOTHING. I can't train my kids in the way they should go, I can't love and respect my husband the way I'm commanded to, I can't forgive others that have wronged me and feel no remorse, I can't love on others, I can't find the strength and energy to make through another day.....nothing. 

Today abide in him. Dwell in Him. Live in Him. Commune with Him. Worship Him. Speak to Him. Listen to Him. Read his word even if it's a single verse. Do this that you may be changed and He may be glorified.
